I've been playing for ~30 years, and whenever someone asks me what brand of acoustic guitar to get for a beginner, Washburn and Yamaha are my go-to brands because in general I've found that their beginner model guitars are always very playable and usually sound good.
I had some xmas & birthday money kicking around and decided to give this thing a shot. First, let's be clear - this is a parlor guitar, if that's not aparent from the pic. The fretboard joins at the 12th fret. The body depth is maybe a little deeper than a normal parlor guitar, but the "petite jumbo" designation washburn has thrown on it had me a bit perplexed.
I had no way to try one in person so I ordered through Amazon, based mainly on the bone nut/saddle & solid top. Plus, I don't have a short-scale acoustic and was intrigued.
