This was my first nice guitar that I ever had, I received it as a birthday present one year and have now owned it and played it for roughly 4-5 years and it still sounds great. I have several other guitars that are more expensive and I keep coming back to this one the tone is rich and it is a very well rounded guitar good for playing anything from country to rock and roll... from strumming background to picking solos. The only thing that some may have an issue with is the fact that it is quite thick... I'm 6'1" and it still seems pretty big at times however the richness of the tone and overall responsiveness is just unmatched as far as I'm concerned. The pressure that the fret board requires to produce a clean note isn't like other acoustic guitars even with heavy strings it doesn't require you to kill your fingers in the process of playing which allows for hours of painless playing. I have been playing guitar for about 16 years and I purchased this guitar since the only real guitar I had was an electric Les Paul ('99 edition) with a small Marshall amp and I wanted an acoustic. It was more or less a gift to myself. I have fell in love with this guitar. I did have to mod the bridge to lower it and put some Elixir's on it as the bridge is high from the factory. It is nothing a few seconds on the grinder will not fix. Now, it is the only guitar that I play basically. It's hard to pry me off this thing. The tone is great. It sounds like a mix between a country and grunge type tone. It's also very loud. There is no need for mic'ing this guitar unless you are playing a gig. This guitar holds it tune, is rugged (as I have thrown it across the room a couple of times), and is awesome for the price. I would not trade it for double the price.
