I special ordered this guitar through a local guitar store without having played one and I am very pleased. Normally, I only buy a guitar after having played it. In this case, I made an exception because I already own a Seagull Maritime Dreadnought and have played Seagull Parlor guitars. I liked the Seagull Parlor, but wanted something a little nicer in all solid wood so I looked around in the family of Godin guitars and found the S&P. I checked out and played numerous parlor style guitars from $250 to $1100. For the money spent, this is an excellent purchase. This guitar, while a little plainer in appointments than the $1100 competition, seems to sound and play just as well.
The guitar came with the action a little high for my tastes, but that was quickly remedied. You can learn to do this yourself or have it professionally set up for around $40 to $50.
