The Seagull S6 Guitar--The Original, But Slimmer and with Godin Q1
Winner of several awards, the S6 is perhaps the instrument that best represents the Seagull philosophy. The S6 Slim offers entry level players the opportunity to experience the great feel and superb sound provided by a hand finished neck with a more traditional nut width feel, aswell as a select solid Cedar top and a Custom Polished finish.

The back and sides are constructed of wild cherry, the neck of silver-leaf maple, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

Seagull guitars all feature Tusq nuts and saddles. The fully compensated saddle helps the Seagull S6 original acoustic guitar play beautifully in-tune all over the neck.

The Seagull S6 Original Slim: A Slimmer, Trimmer Acoustic Guitar
Most of us think we could all use a slightly slimmer, trimmer version of ourselves (especially as the holiday season comes and goes). However, does this also translate to your acoustic guitar? Well, why not?

Godin Guitars, the Canadian manufacturers of Seagull acoustic guitars, has put this idea into motion after realizing that certain players love the S6 Original but prefer a more traditional feeling nut width. So, Godin made it happen.

The S6 Original Slim features a comfortable, slimmer than traditional 1.72" (4.37 cm) nut width. The same nut width as its parlor sized little friend with the big sound, the Seagull Grand. The Slims cream binding also helps differentiate this model from its S6 Original counterpart. The combination of the solid cedar top and wild cherry back & sides gives this guitar a full, warm contoured sound, further accentuated by the comfort of the silver leaf maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and double function truss rod. Another key characteristic to these guitars, as with all Seagull guitars, is the use of genuine lacquer finish, which enables the top to breathe and vibrate freely. This in turn promotes the aging process of the guitar, meaning that your instrument will actually sound better the more it is played over time.

The S6 Original Slim keeps with the same high standards of quality and musicality, which has garnered the ever-popular S6 Original many accolades and awards since its early beginnings.

About the Godin Q1
The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

The Godin Q1 also includes a built-in high quality digital chromatic tuner with LED display.

Operating Suggestions
Before plugging in for the first time, adjust Quantum volume to minimum (fully counterclockwise) and set bass and treble at midrange. Plug into endpin jack and amplifier. Increase volume slowly to desired level. Adjust bass and treble to desired level.

The Seagull Original Guitar Series
The guitars that make up the Seagull Original series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the Original series models are made from a three-layer lamination of Wild Cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a Mahogany guitar and the bright sound of Maple, Wild Cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, Wild Cherry is also a choice. Original series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple.

More About Seagull Guitars
The Seagull story wouldn't be complete without mentioning La Patrie. La Patrie is a small village in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. This is where the first Seagulls were made in the early eighties. Today, La Patrie has a population of about 475 and about half of these people are guitar builders. These folks take a great deal of pride in the guitars they build.

I am a 20 year player, started on Martins, Taylors and Gibsons. I play the blues and folk music; an eclectic blend to be sure. My last guitar was a Martin D-15, which was admittedly a rich sounding guitar. One day, I popped into Rupar Music in Hibbing MN, (Where Bob Dylan used to work), picked up this Seagull, and within a week I had sold my Martin and bought this Gull.

WHAT YOU GET: A solid top of Cedar, beautifully mirrored so both sides match, cherry sides, maple neck and of course a rosewood fretboard. This is a modest looking instrument on purpose, which is what many in the music biz are now choosing over fancy and in my opinion outdated sunburst finishes.

Made by the Godin Company in Canada, you are assured of native wood, which is more acclimated to our climate, proving to be a more resiliant and durable choice of material. Within a year of ownership, I've already noticed the sound of my instrument mellowing, as it takes YEARS for Martins and Taylors...Read more

Learning to play the guitar has been on my bucket list for many years. Only now have I actually acted on it. I started like I do anything, lots of research. When it was all said and done, the S6 was at the top of my list. I've been playing it now for 5 weeks and absolutely love it. My more accomplished guitar playing friends give it high praise. With my research and their reviews, I am positive the S6 was my best choice. Thanks Amazon!
