This was my first guitar when I just started to learn playing guitar. There is no cutaway, so this guitar is good for playing by chords, but not so good for those who is interested in playing high fret (>12) solos. Recommended string gauge is around 0.11-0.52 (light) ... 0.13-0.53 (medium). Heavy gauge strings are not recommended by the manufacturer.
Pros
* Fretboard is straight
* Frets are placed correctly on the fretboard
* Head shape design is unique to this guitar brand, and it was designed by Greg Bennett. I wish this shape was more popular among other guitar brands.
* The guitar holds tune pretty well
* True drednought body size, hence loud volume when played
* Overall quality of build is good. You can take it with you anywhere. Nothing to complain about considering the price.
* Sound is ok, missing some very high frequencies.
Cons
* Fret are made of soft metal. There was some noticeable wear after 9 months of...Read more

First Ide like to say this is the best bang for the buck.. Wish it was an acoustic-electric but for what it is. No complaints. I bought a student version 39 in length but thats fine cuz its a full body, not a cut-away, so anything higher than the 12th fret is not happening.. This is a good guitar to learn on. I dont know about soft frets.. they seem to hold up well. of course Im not doing a lot of bending either.. I would rate the sound quality as good as any $250- 300 martin. Of course my acoustic playing is very limited.. Ive been playing electrics for 40 yrs. At least you owe it to yourself to check one of these out before buying anything...you may end up owning it for a few years before you move on.
lots of pros.. (mentioned)
The con: it does seem kinda cheap. and its very light. If your not careful you can
Fubar the thing by setting it down too hard or leaving it too close to a heat exchanger.
FYI (I dont know where I read it) But this guitar is...Read more
