I raised the nut height and recapped the saddle with maple (it comes capped with ebony) I added heavier e & b strings and leveled the reso cone while adding a heavier adjusting screw and voila! Truly excellent build quality and finish. Beautifully rendered from the Grover open-gear tuners with brass fittings to the bound ebony fingerboard to the balanced sunburst on both the body and the back of the neck, leveled and reasonably polished frets, and lush-sounding resonator. The action was great right out of the box, which was a pleasant surprise considering how some Recording Kings have shipped in need of a setup. This one didn't. A gorgeous guitar to look at and delightful to play. The cone sounds loud and sweet--not too 'quacky' or tinny, but a very pleasant and distinctive voice. Nice appointments for a guitar at this price point. The mahogany is of nice quality and looks great where it peeks through the sunburst finish.
