The thin sheet of laminate provides the guitar with a protective coating to weather the elements and test(s) of time. Humidity and rapid changes in temperature are less of a factor, while the shine gives it a clean appeal that speaks to any observer. What you're ultimately seeing is an unforgettable first impression of a pure-toned piece of linden wood with a deep cherry stain on the sides, back, and neck.
