I bought this amp lightly used from a dude on a popular auction site. I had used the previous model MK1 1x12" Spider Valve and I had been immensely happy with that amp. This new amp is a significant leap forward in tone, volume, editing capabilities and ease-of-use (provided you buy one of the pedals, I prefer the FBV ShortBoard).
When I plugged her in and set the model to Class A, turned the drive up to 85% and strummed that first chord, the amp gently took the electrical signal from my pickups, caressed it gently, shaping the tones into wisps of tonal joy and pleasure, as it passed the signal through the tubes and to the Celestion vintage 30 speakers, where the signal was transmuted into an airborne assault of gentle yet powerful aural bliss. Even when one has the testicular fortitude to attempt to draw every ounce of overdrive and distortion out of this amp, it never sounds bad. When the Insane model is selected and the drive pushed to 100%, the end result is a heavy...Read more

Unless you're touring with a band and on stage every single night, this is the one and only amp you will need for the rest of your life. I got into line 6 products when i picked up a used POD on ebay. I figured if the tones sound this good without tubes in the picture, what will it sound like with the tubes? the answer is simple. They all sound amazing. On top of just plain sounding great, there is so much versatility with the effects and amp models. If for some wild reason you can't find a tone you like out of the 16 presets it comes loaded with, you can flip it to manual and adjust your settings however you like. Either way, hearing it wont be a problem with two of the best speakers on the market inside the cab. 90% of the killer amps made for the past couple decades have had the celestions in them including marshall cabs and the mesa cabs and of course this sweet little amp. The clean tones are pristine as for the distorted tones, my buddy had a Mesa half stack and after he heard...Read more

The amp is freakin awesome. Fabulous tone and modeling effects. the only thing I didn't like was that the advertizement videos showed the amp with the effects board which made me think the effects pedal board thingy wa included with the amp which it is not. I just want to warn people about that but the amp itself is top notch quality.
