The Trailblazer is perfect for the traveling guitarist, with its small-scale design and full-scale sound. It features a rosewood fretboard and bridge, neck and body binding and 22 full-size nickel/silver frets. Get plenty of tone in a portable package--whether you're camping, hiking, or just taking a quick road trip, the Johnson Trailblazer is the perfect companion.

This travel guitar features a white wood top and back/sides, and a mahogany neck with 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Die-cast tuners keep you in tune, and a set of Martin strings gets you started off right.
The Trailblazer boasts features you wouldn't expect to find on a travel guitar, such as neck and body binding, and full-size frets. It's a good-looking instrument, not shirking on details.
It also features a standard 24-3/4-inch scale length, so aside from the compact body it's just like playing a normal acoustic.

This review is from: Johnson JG-TR2 Travel Guitar with Bag (Electronics) This guitar is a bad little puppy and I know anyone who picks will have a lot of fun with it! I bought it for my locker so I could practice at work... regular sized locker. Compared to other similar travel size guitars, the Johnson was in my price-range and just the size I needed. I tuned it once and played the heck out of it. I checked the tuning several times while I was playing (the smaller and cheaper guitars are usually harder to keep in tune)and barely any adjustments were needed. I couldn't believe it stayed in tune!! For some people it may be hard to get used to the small body, but I adjusted just fine. The neck of it is just a tad bit smaller than a full-sized acoustic, so I had to adjust my fingers closer together. Mine came with a nice little gig bag, and a strap. The strings seem to be okay but for more advanced players I'd recommend replacing them right away. Also you will want to spray or lube the strings asap as they are pretty sharp. This review is from: Johnson JG-TR2 Travel Guitar with Bag (Electronics) I have two full-sized acoustic six-string guitars, but I bought this Johnson travel guitar to take with me in the family van that just doesn't have room for all our stuff AND a full-sized guitar. The quality of the guitar is surprisingly good and it seems to hold its tuning very well. The volume, obviously, is not very loud because of the small body, but that's to be expected. Warning: If you are used to a full-sized guitar it'll take you awhile to get accustomed to holding the small body in a comfortable position. Overall, though, this would be a great guitar for a beginner or a child and also a nice travel guitar at a reasonable price. I'm very pleased with mine and the carry bag is a great addition to the deal. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Johnson JG-TR2 Travel Guitar with Bag (Electronics) I'm a beginner at guitar, but this one is easy to play and has good tone for a small instrument. It's nice to have something you can take with you on trips. The neck is a little narrower that my full size guitar, so there is some adjustment. Also, the small body takes some getting used to. I think it is a great instrument for the price. |
