I've been playing (or trying to play) the guitar for 18 years now. I live in an austere environment for half the year and didn't want to bring any of my nicer guitars to such a dry and unforgiving climate. Amazon shipped it to an APO address and I received it in Afghanistan within 7 days.

$99 is a great value for the guitar, case (which you can wear like a backpack), extra strings, strap, and picks. I ordered some Fender Strap Buttons (off Amazon for $4.99) so I could attach the strap to the back, underside of the neck where it meets the body.

The only problem with the guitar was that it wasn't set up properly. I had to make a few adjustments (after watching a youtube tutorial) on how to get rid of the string buzz on the high e and b strings on the first and second frets. Now that I have it set up properly, the guitar plays as good as any of the low-end name brands such as yamaha, fender, and martin.

I bought one of these for my oldest daughter for Christmas 2011. I was a little skeptical of it's quality becuase of the price -- but hey, it's a Takamine -- I own a high end T and really like it - so I figured I would give it a try.

When it arived, I had to try it out. I was amazed at the quality and sound!

I ended up buying a 2nd one for my youngest daughter for her birthday because she kept swiping my oldest dauhgter's box to play. It also has great sound and quality.

About the only issue I have is that the second one came with a slight flaw in the grain on the top -- a 1" dark streak -- totally cosmetic.

Highly recommended for beginner to casual/intermediate player on a budget.

Pleased with guitar with one exception; it came with only one attachment for the back sling. Good sound. Great value.
