I thought this was advertised as a 22 fret neck but it is actually a 21 fret neck. Not a big deal, just wanted to point this out though. I do not see where it is stated as a 22 fret neck at the time of this writing so maybe the description has been recently changed. It does mention the "22 fret position", but just be aware this is a 21 fret neck in case it matters to you. I got this neck to complete my first set builds so I didn't want to spend too much money. This neck was perfect for what I was looking for. Quality seems good and the headstock is easy to shape. Absolutely great price for the product. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.

The neck itself is straight, nicely finished (for an unfinished neck) and arrived without any damage. However, when I pulled the masking tape (3M blue painter's tape) from the fretboard after finishing the maple, one of the inlays dots popped out, stuck to the tape. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until too late and the inlay dot is missing. Not a huge problem: since it was one of the double-dots on the 12th fret, I'll just replace both with StewMac Abalone for a special touch.
Still, very annoying and I'll have to keep an eye on the others.

First off, shipping was a very good experience. I ordered it on Presidents day (a Monday) and the neck was in by Wednesday of that week! The neck came very well packaged with no dings or dents in it at all. I figured that I would have to grind down a few frets and sand a few parts down, but it was all perfect. The neck was very smooth, no warping, and all the holes for the tuners were right where they should be. However the neck does only have 21 frets, not 22, but that didn't really bother me. The craftsmanship is defiantly high end! If you need a neck for a custom project, or need to replace a broken neck, get this one! The headstock also allows for plenty of room to cut a custom look into it, like I did. Thanks Golden Gate! You guys secured a new loyal customer!
