I first owned this guitar 5 years ago and it was stolen; I've been pining after it ever since. Finally, just bought a replacement, thanks to my wonderful husband and his understanding.

The Gibson Hummingbird (esp the True Vintage model) is THE finest guitar I have ever touched or played. This guitar has such a warm, full tone, and butter soft action, that once you play one you will not want to put it down. Before I owned this guitar, I had been songwriting for a while, but once I started writing with this baby, it was like the floodgates opened. The Hummingbird is perfect for a singer/ songwriter. It provides wonderful accompaniment in a beautiful and easy to play package. Unless you have seen one of these guitars in person, you will not be able to truly appreciate it's beauty. I can not wait to pass it on to my children someday (okay, maybe I can wait a bit!), and I know that my Hummingbird will sound and look just as beautiful when that day comes.

OK...I've been playing guitar for 15 plus years. Owned and played more guitars than most people ever see due to my job, my career and my travels. I've played professionally and semiprofessionally. I've owned and played Martins, Gibsons, Yamahas, Alvarez, Takamine, Epiphone, and more, and I'm not only a player, I'm a tech junkie. BUT, I'm not a "collector"---I don't give a RIP about buying a guitar, putting it in a case, and "securing it" somewhere so that "maybe" I'll make a buck in 10-20 years. I play. A lot. Like Hours and hours a day. I do not own any guitar I don't play..

So...I think you get my point.

In all of my playing, practicing, gigging, an examining, I've NEVER played a better sounding acoustic guitar. Ever. Whether a $10,000.00 J-200 Vintage, or a $200.00 Yamaha, there is NO better sounding and playing guitar than this one. It is a guitar player's guitar.
