Product Review

Learn to play at a young age with First Act's guitar. It has a traditional body which emits great sound and intonation. Get to know the real thing with authentic tuning gears and full fretboard. It's specifically designed for young players with a compact design and low string action. Adding to its comfort the included nylon strings are easy on the fingers.

My son has the FG127 plus two other First Act Guitars. We have had no problems. These guitars as all stringed instruments placed in the hands of incompetent cretins will not provide any satisfaction.

1. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD RUN THROUGH DOORWAYS WITH THIS GUITAR

2. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD STAND OR SIT ON THIS GUITAR

3. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD MANIPULATE THE TUNING MACHINES (ALMOST ALL THE DAMAGE I SEE ON THESE GUITARS COMES FROM WAY OVER TIGHTENING THE STRINGS)

4. DO NOT LEAVE THIS GUITAR IN YOUR CAR ON A HOT SUMMER DAY (WARP)

5. USE LIGHT GAUGE STRINGS

If you follow the above suggestions you will have many years of enjoyment from this very cool looking guitar. The most common repair that I have done to these guitars is the bridge coming off from too much string tension. The bridges are screwed on with the heads of the screws under the plastic dots which must be pried out to access. Originally I thought this a bad...Read more

I've been playing guitar since the late 60s. I have played way worse guitars, that cost me way more. If you have a younger student, don't be afraid to try this. Put a new set of strings on it and enjoy. Most beginners will quit within the first 8 weeks. You won't be out much in that case. The biggest offender for new learners is a guitar that is impossible to play. The action is not horrible on this one, and the tone, limited because of the size, isn't real bad. If they are still playing in 2 months, spend some money on a decent guitar. Avoid Squiers and other B-team guitars. You will never get anything back if you sell them.

I personally use mine a lot tuned to open tunings with a slide. Records very nice this way!

Enjoy!

Obviously not everybody's cup of tea, being smaller than the usual.
It's dimensions are:
Entire length [including endpin]: 79.5 cm
Width at widest: 26.1 cm
Body depth: 5.8 cm
When tuned to G instead of the standard E, it tunes perfectly and intonation keeps all the way up the neck, on all the strings.
It sounds like a guitar, not quite as loud as some but definitely loud enough and very pleasant.
Uses light guage strings.
Sits comfortably in any playing position.
The neck meets the body at the 14th fret.
Definitely recommendable.
