Body Tonewoods The top of the AJ-100 is made from select spruce, while the back and sides are constructed from mahogany, giving the AJ-100 balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection.
Rosewood Fingerboard with Dot Inlays The fingerboard of the AJ-100 is constructed from rosewood. The resilience of this durable wood makes the fingerboard extremely balanced and stable, and gives each chord and note clarity and bite.
Angled Headstock Unlike cheaper designs, all Epiphones feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.

I ordered this AJ-100 for a friend who I am teaching guitar. For $99 this thing is unbelievable and that's what I'm basing the 5 stars on. It could easily be double that price. Now, it has a nice spruce top and mahogany body. It doesn't compare to my $1200 Alvarez Masterworks but for the price it's awsome. Again, it lacks some of the body and punch of a better guitar but in context of price, the fit, finish, feel and sound is GREAT!!! This is NOT a cheap walmart quality guitar. This is a REAL solid guitar and a great platform for a beginner or intermediate to work their way up on.
