BR-40T Blueridge Tenor Guitar. Blueridge has re-introduced the classic 0-sized tenor guitar andhas perfectly reproduced this popular model down to the lastdetail. Originally coming to prominence in the late 1920s, thetenor guitar was designed as an instrument that would allow thetenor banjoist to double on guitar. As the six-string guitar graduallyreplaced the banjo in the Big Bands, the four-string tenor guitarfound its way into Dixieland, Western Swing and country fiddlebands.

I took a chance when I ordered this guitar. No guitar shop in my area had a Tenor guitar in stock, and I really like a "hands on" expereince before I buy an instrument, but this little guitar is awesome. It has great tone and projection and the intonation is perfect all the way up the fingerboard.
There is a learning curve going from six string to tenor guitar, but it is well worth the effort. This instrument adds a wonderful folk and bluegrass flavor to any group. Buy one, then spend a little time learning the new chord fingerings, and you won't be disappointed. I tune mine to CGDA, and the sound is really great.
