Alvarez is not what it used to be...
I got this guitar last Christmas as a companion to my 2001 Alvarez P90 Professional Series dreadnought. My P90 was made in Korea, and is built like a Martin (I know as I have one of those as well). I got my P90 for $450 on sale, but the retail price was $800 or so. I spent $8 dollars on a bone bridge and $25 on a set of Martin ebony bridge pins. I had a local guitar shop custom fit the bridge and pins for free since I bought them there. The guitar plays as well as and better than some Martins and most Taylors I have played (yes, I just said that).
I was hoping to have the same experience with The PF411. . . I was wrong.
I got the PF411 from Amazon, on sale for $375. I seemed like a great deal, and with my other Alvarez in hand, it also seemed like a no-brainer.
