Alvarez DC2 Lightweight Case for Dreadnought Body Style Guitars

I bought this case to protect my Alvarez guitar. I wanted a sturdy case that was lighter than the hard shell ones I've seen.

This case is very nicely constructed. I had read reviews on other sites that said the case fell apart quickly, but I can't see how unless the person was really rough with it.

It has a good sized zipper compartment that holds about three thin books, and extra strings. The inside box (under the guitar neck) is roomy and easily holds my guitar strap, extra picks, metronome and other little stuff.

The case itself feels like there's a stiff shell of some kind under the padding and outer canvas. The padding is thick, lined with fake fur and the guitar fits snuggly so there's no movement of the guitar. There's also a hygrometer to keep track of the humidity in your case. I ended up buying a humidifier for my guitar since it's very dry where I live.

My Alvarez Artist Special Edition seen several tours of duty on a Navy ship, and passed around from one sailor to another. It was getting rather worn, but still in really nice condition, even after hitting the deck a couple of times. It deserved a case, and my wife got me this one for Christmas.

It is a really nice case, solid, featuring a zipper, combination lock built in.
Other features include really secure handles, and a hydgrometer on the interior of the case...and it actually works! The embroidered Alvarez logo adds a elegant touch.

This is not a cheap-o soft case. This is the real deal and worth every cent.

I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved this case. It is thoughtfully designed, with convenient carrying straps and storage comparments, and it is exceptionally well constructed. The guitar fits snugly into the fur-lined compartment, so that it will be nearly impossible for the guitar to be scratched or damaged during storage. This is a rugged piece of luggage, not "soft" except to the touch. The embroidered Alvarez logo is a nice touch. The case is well worth the asking price.
