I have owned four Martins, the last a beautiful D35. My 000X1 doesn't have quite the tonal resonance of that big dreadnought body, but the sound, tone and consistency throughout the range is nothing short of brilliant. To top it off, this is one of the finger friendliest Martins I have ever played. I don't play enough, and so I don't have the fingertip callouses to handle a tough fretboard. While it isn't fancy, wow, what a great tone and I agree with the last review--it was very easy on the fingers. Although I have played for a very long time, I have just recently begun to play more regularly--coinciding with the purchase of a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe--so I do have calluses, but this was just flat out easy to play. I am a 5'3" female, so I always look for something that fits me sizewise and this was perfect. The only problem is that I already have six guitars and really don't need another, but this Martin 000X1 may be hard to resist. |
